The Buchanan Center for the Arts is continuing their 30th anniversary celebration with the launch of the Artist in Residence program. On Saturday June 1st, all are welcomed to come meet the first Artist in Residence, Natalie Curtis. Executive Director Krystine Gilbert has more:

“She is a graduate of Monmouth College from Arlington Heights. She was a Math and Art major we are so excited to have her spend her summer with the community working on the mural on the southside of the BCA building. As well as teaching classes at our new arts partners, Jamieson Community Center and the Warren County Housing Authority. It’s going to be a really great summer filled with bringing the arts into the community,” states Gilbert.

The event will begin at 10:30am and will be held in the alley walkway.  In the incident of rain, it will be held in the BCA gallery.

Regional and local artists interested in being a part of the Buchanan Center for the Arts “Art from the Heartland”, artwork is being accepted now. Gilbert offers more insight:

“It’s always a great show because it’s never the same show two shows twice. We get a large variety. It’s extended to artists in all mediums. We always enjoy seeing what is going to arrive at the arts center and putting it on display. Then actually having an opportunity to meet with multiple artists,” Gilbert shares.

The deadline for entry is Friday June 21st at 5pm.
