Norma G. Johnson, 92, of Gerlaw, IL, passed away at 10:40 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2019 at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. 

She was born on July 25, 1926 the daughter of Franklin and Grace (Nelson) Carlson.  She attended Douglas Grade School, Lombard Junior High School, and Galesburg High School, graduating in 1945.

She worked at the Illinois Camera Shop before her marriage.  She married Kenneth Johnson on August 19, 1948 in Galesburg.  Kenneth farmed the family farm in Gerlaw where they made their home.

She was a member of the congregation of the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth IL.  She enjoyed vacations in Colorado, boating on the Mississippi, Lake of the Ozarks, and Branson, MO.  She was an avid pet lover and always had a dog or cat by side up until she passed away.  She loved being together with her family and friends.

Three children survive Julie (Ron) Prokop of Cape Coral, FL, Randy (Tina) Johnson of Gerlaw, IL and Debbie (Rex) Allan of Montrose, CO.  There are also 6 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren along with 5 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her infant son – Jeffrey Johnson, her grandson – Casey Even, her brother – Eugene Carlson, and her sister-in-law- Rosemary “Babe” Carlson. 

A Gathering of Family & Friends will be 5:00-6:30 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to begin at 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  A private family interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.  Memorials can be made to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital (University of Iowa Hospital), WIAR Animal Rescue or to Guardian Angels Pet Rescue, Galesburg.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
