According to the Illinois State Department of Agriculture, the State of Illinois has received a record number of hemp production applications that, if approved, would amount to over 10,000 acres of hemp production and over 100 requests for hemp processors.

There were over 350 applications for licenses received in total.

This information was relayed by State Rep Dan Swanson, who says, “it would be a great opportunity if we can find a market.”
