Willie T. Tapscott, 91, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 11:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis, IL. 

He was born December 6, 1927 in Cave City, KY, the son of Ernest and Lucille (Short) Tapscott.  He was raised and educated in the Joy and Millersburg area.

Willie married Roberta Jean Munson in Monmouth, IL, on April 21, 1946.  She passed away on April 15, 2016.

Willie worked as an auto body technician his whole life, owning and operating Monmouth Auto Body, Silvis Auto Body and later Colona Avenue Collision Center.

Willie always worked hard and was dedicated to his family.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, hunting, fishing and bowling.  He had a true passion for cars.

Surviving are his children, Judy (Lou) Sawkins of Silvis, IL, Sue (Michael) Fisher of Oquawka, IL, Rodney (Peggy) Tapscott of Port Byron, IL, Scotty (Janice) Tapscott of Silvis, IL and Penny (Jon) Bishop of Bettendorf, IA;  numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Teddy (Kas) Tapscott of Genesco, IL; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 5 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment will be in Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the Willie Tapscott Memorial Fund.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
