The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau® proudly presented this year’s Ag Service Award to area Cameron farmer Rob Elliott at this year’s W-HFB Annual Meeting.

A graduate of Illinois State University, Rob has been farming in Warren County since 1976 and running Elliott Seed Brothers with brothers Rick and Dan as well as father Ralph since 1980. Local involvement for Rob includes having served on the Warren School Board for 22 years, a 33 year career in agribusiness with Monsanto/Bayer, and being a contributor to WRAM Prairie Radio Network’s Ag Roundtables for many years.

Industry involvement for Rob includes having served as a board member/officer for the National Corn Growers Association from 2009-2015 and as a board member/officer for the Illinois Corn Growers Association from 2000-2010. Additionally, Rob has been a lifelong member of the American Soybean Association, Illinois and Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau, the National Grain & Feed Association, the American Society of Farm Managers, the IL Fertilizer & Chemical Association, and the Chicago Farmers Club.

With him through all his endeavors has been his sidekick Stephanie; over their 45 years together they have raised four kids (Erik, Jared, Robbie, and Gina) and are proud grandparents to 7 grandchildren. When able to get away from the farm and their numerous engagements, Rob and Stephanie enjoy traveling around to catch their grandkids’ activities.

When asked of his favorite part of working in the ag industry, Rob stated, “I’ve been extremely fortunate to have experienced a number of great opportunities and met a lot of great people in the industry across the country over the years. You hope in the final tally that our efforts have helped make a difference and had a positive impact.”

A clear example of someone who has dedicated much effort promoting and driving agriculture positions through ever-changing environments, it came to no surprise to us that Rob was a nominee for this award.

The Ag Service Award is an annual award Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau started giving out in 1992. It is awarded to an individual who has been a great supporter of agriculture and given unselfishly to help others in the agricultural field.
