Illinois Governor Pulls Two WIU Trustees, Meeting Canceled

Share

There are more questions about who’s running Western Illinois University.  Trustees were supposed to start two days of meetings in the Quad Cities yesterday, but those meetings were canceled when Governor Pritzker withdrew support for two trustees.  The two individuals removed were reported to be Nick Padgett and Jackie Thompson. The chaos comes after Western President Jack Thomas resigned under pressure earlier this summer.  The two trustees served at Western for just about four months. WIU Interim President Martin Abraham will continue to serve in this role until further notice. The next regularly scheduled meeting for the board will be held Oct. 3-4 in Macomb.
