OSF, Jamieson Center, Hosting Healthy Meals on a Budget

Share

OSF Holy Family Medical Center and Jamieson Community Center are hosting their monthly Healthy Meals on a Budget Program Thursday, July 25 at the Jamieson Center.

The program consists of meal planning, providing healthy food choices, and preparing a healthy meal.

Participants will prepare a turkey ranch wrap, a chop chop salad, and a “skinny” version of key lime pie. Groceries used to prepare the meal will be provided so participants can cook the meal at home.

Tina Canada of OSF says it is possible to eat healthy on a budget.

“We’re trying to provide healthy food choices on a budget, because sometimes things that are healthy we think we can’t afford them, but we want to show people that you can really afford healthy, quality, food items.”

The deadline to register is July 19. Individuals can register by calling the Jamieson Center at (309) 734-4251.
