Public Hearing for New Love’s Travel Stop to Be Held July 15

A public hearing will held on July 15 at the next Monmouth City Council meeting on a proposed business district started by Love’s Travel Stop.


Two motions will be voted on: one will be to approve the business district and the other to approve a 1 per cent sales tax only within the business district.


City Administrator Lew Steinbrecher tells us what the sales tax will go towards.

“Those revenues will be used for reimbursing Love’s for the infrastructure improvements like water and sewer, and also the reconstruction of 11th Avenue.”

Steinbrecher says that Love’s has already purchased the property.
