Regular Rainfall, Mild Temperature, Needed for Corn Crops: Coziahr

Share

The bulk of corn crops were planted during the week of June 3, but Troy Cozhiar of Bayer Crop Science says it has come at a price.

Coziahr says that the ground was too wet while planting and weather conditions were not ideal when the crops were planted. Coziahr says there is a wide range of potential for this season’s crops.

Coziahr explains what needs to happen in order to have a successful farming season for corn.

“What we’re going to need now is regular, ample, rainfall, from here on out, and hopefully mild temperatures during the bulk of pollination and grain fill, and that’s a tall order.”

According to Coziahr, soybeans will not have as wide a range of potential as the corn crops.
