The Great Balloon Race Returns This Weekend

Share

The 19th Annual Great Balloon Race kicks off in Galesburg at Lake Storey Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. with events throughout Saturday and Sunday morning. There will be tons kids’ activities, craft vendors, and food up until the first balloon launch and night glow at dusk. Jackie Saul, coordinator of the event, shares why her and her husband started the event back in 2000:

“We wanted to bring people into Galesburg, bring the businesses more business, and just let people see Galesburg. We wanted to see people bring their families and have an event with their families. That is why we started the event,” Saul states.

There will be 22 balloons involved in the event this year.
