Julie M. Spicer, age 64, of Blaine, Minnesota; passed away on November
24, 2018, mother of two and grandmother of five.
Julie was born on March 7, 1954 in Macon, Missouri where her parents
(Leland and Geraldine McCoy Spicer) operated the Tastee Freez. She grew
up in Country Club Hills, Illinois with her three brothers, and attended
Rich Central High School where she played flute, softball, and water
skied. She attended art school in Chicago and moved to Minnesota to
raise a family. Throughout her life, Julie created paintings, bronze
sculptures and other works of art, including one she displayed at the
Minnesota State Fair.She enjoyed seeing plays, being in the outdoors,
and spending time with her friends and family.
Julie leaves her children, Nathan (Amanda), Philip (Katie), her five
grandchildren, her brothers Rodney (Janice) Spicer of Grain Valley, MO
and Ray Spicer of Monmouth, IL, her close friends, and her cat, Boots.
She is preceded in death by herparents and brother, Alan. Her family
will celebrate her life together having a graveside committal of her
ashes at 10:30 am on Saturday August 10, 2019 at Monmouth Cemetery.
Fellowship will follow at the social hall of Faith Church following the
interment. Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth is in charge of the local
