With a new fall semester starting Wednesday, new equipment, renovations, and academic programs are being welcomed to Monmouth College as well.

Grier Residence Hall, one of the oldest buildings on the Monmouth College campus, is celebrating its first full year after renovations. Grier Hall was re-dedicated last Spring.

A Computer Numeric Control machine will be coming to campus later this fall. The machine has been donated by Midwest Bank in Monmouth and built by Jupiter Machine Tool in Galesburg.

Dr. Clarence Wyatt, President of Monmuoth College, says the CNC machine will be a valuable addition to the Science and Engineering departments:

“It is a very sophisticated, computer-controlled, machine tool which can operate on several different axes. The precision it can achieve is extraordinary. The use of it, and familiarity with it, is a great teaching-learning opportunity for our students in and of itself.”

The College is also beginning new programs in Data and Nano Science.
