Riley Strong 5K Coming August 24

Share

The third annual Riley Strong 5K Color Run and Kids Fun Run is Saturday, August 24 at the Monmouth American Legion.

The race starts at nine and ends at noon, with the Kids Fun Run following the 5K.

Late registration begins at eight fifteen and packet pick up is at eight thirty. There will be a costume competition, with a trophy being awarded to the best costume.

Riley Strong organizer Michelle Thomas explains the “color” portion of the run:

“We have a lot of color stations set up, and we throw color at you as you’re running. Everybody gets a white T-shirt and if you don’t like the color you can go around the color stations. Once you’re done at the end of the race, you’re sort of tie-died.”

All proceeds from the run will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. For more information, listen to Michelle Thomas’s interview below.
