The IHSA is Looking to Hire New Officials

Share

The Illinois High School Association is opening its doors to new officials for sports programs in the state of Illinois.

The current lack of officials has created the opportunity for young adults of college or college graduate age to get into the field.

Craig Anderson, Executive Director of the IHSA, says that the organization is more than happy to help any young adults who are curious to get into the program. Online education and testing are offered, and scheduling for officials is flexible.

Craig Anderson went on to stress the importance of this opportunity to former athletes and college graduates…

“Officiating is an opportunity to give back to a sport that gave you an opportunity to grow and mature. And those that will take that leap to put themselves out there will generally find a love for it and they’ll do it for a number of years. So I would encourage anybody that recognizes what the sport provided them when they were a high school participant. The process of registering and becoming a licensed official is something that our office is happy to work through with anyone.”
