Doris J. Luallen, 91, of Galesburg, died at 2:34 a.m. Monday, September 16, 2019 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

She was born December 6, 1927, in Galesburg, the daughter of Ross and Helen (Ashbaugh) Garman.  She married Leo C. Danielson on December 15, 1945, in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death November 1, 1968.  She later married Ira Luallen on August 15, 1973, in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on September 24, 1996.

She is survived by two sons, Rick (Peggy) Danielson and Curt (Kelly) Danielson, both of Galesburg; five grandchildren, Jared Schave, Jon Danielson, Jamie Danielson, Chad Danielson, and Kyle Danielson; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Florence “Flo” Johnson of Galesburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Robert “Slick”, Maurice “Pete”, Wallace “Wally”, Dale, and Lawrence “Larry” Garman; and a sister, Juanita Stevens.

Doris worked at Admiral’s for 30 years, retiring in 1984.  During this time, she also served as the Union Secretary.  Doris was a life-long Galesburg resident.  She graduated from Galesburg High School.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.  Doris enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Galesburg Bowling Hall of Fame.  She also enjoyed playing bingo and all card games, trips to the boat, and she was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Doris was the anchor of her family, who was loved by and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at the chapel with Rev. Norman Mendell officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
