Jeremiah A. “Jake” Kenney, 28, of Alexis, IL, passed away at 10:20 a.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth. 

He was born on November 12, 1990 in Galesburg, IL the son of Mark Lyle and Ruth Irene (Dyer) Kenney.  Jake was raised and educated in Alexis and graduated from United High School in 2009.  He attended Monmouth College. 

Jake worked at Shopko and County Market through his school years then joined the family painting business, becoming a partner with his dad in operating M & J Kenney Painting.  He enjoyed being outdoors, playing horseshoes, softball, and partying with his friends and family. 

Jake is survived by his father, Mark (Teresa Morrison) Kenney of Alexis, IL, his mother, Ruth Kenney of Washington, PA; his siblings, Sarah (Jason) Horner of Kirkwood, IL, Markus Kenney of Sherrard, IL, Chris Snow of Tampa, FL, Nick Snow of Urbandale, IA, Rachel Kenney of Galesburg, IL, Jesse Kenney of Alexis, IL; paternal grandfather, Lyle Kenney of Galesburg, IL; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ronald and Jeannine Dyer and paternal grandmother, LaVeta Kenney.

A Gathering of Family & Friends for a Celebration of Life will be 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Alexis Field House, Alexis, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Jake Kenney Memorial Fund.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
