John Walter Babcock, 73, of Portland OR, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Marquis Mt. Tabor Hospice Center in Portland, OR.  He was born Friday, July 26, 1946 in Monmouth, IL the son of Hiram Edward and Agnes P. (Davis) Babcock.  He married Sandra Hudson and later married Phyllis E. Cruikshank.

John is survived by his son Mark Babcock of Portland, OR and his 1st wife Sandra Petersen of Portland, OR; siblings James (Alice) Babcock of Roseville, and Carol Becraft of Roseville, brother-in-law Ronold Waddell of Monmouth, and sister-in-law Emily Babcock of Menomonie, WI; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wife (Phyllis E. Babcock), 1 sister (Martha Waddell), 3 brothers (Harlin, Robert, and William).

John worked at Bagley’s Sales and Service from 1965-1986.  He also worked at Breslin Pontiac/GMC in Portland from 1986-2007.  John enjoyed fishing and camping.

Graveside service will be Thursday, October 3, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery Roseville, IL.  Memorials may be made to Roseville Helping Hands.  Please sign the online guestbook at www.wisefamilyfuneralhome.com.  Wise family Funeral Home Roseville is in charge of the arrangements.
