Ken Springer Talks on New Cannabis Dispensary Coming to Galesburg

Share

It has been a busy month for the Knox county Area Partnership for Economic Development.

This last month has seen plans to reuse the former Aldi building on main street in downtown Galesburg for multiple new businesses, including a coffee shop and adult-use cannabis dispensary.

Ken Springer, President of the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development, spoke more about how the legislation for the dispensary passed in Knox county…

“So the actual action was split into two pieces. The zoning for adult use cannabis businesses was one item that passed 6-1, and then the specific development agreement for this project passed 7-0, so that was unanimous.”

The dispensary will sell medicinal as well as recreational cannabis to local adult customers, and plans to open on January 1st of 2020.
