Mayor Scores Twice as CSC Chargers Men’s Soccer Blank Kennedy-King 4-0

Chicago, IL– Wyatt Mayor (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) scored twice and helped the Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team to a 4-0 victory at Kennedy-King on Monday, ending a three-game slide for a Chargers.

Sandburg (4-4-2 overall, 2-4-2 Region IV) struck for three first-half goals. Mohamed Elshafie (Miami, Fla./Immaculata LaSalle) got the Chargers on the board in the seventh minute. Mayor connected for a pair of goals late in the half, scoring in the 41st and 45th minutes.

Luis Cuevas (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Vocational Bernardino Cordero) extended Sandburg’s lead with a goal in the 51st minute.

Starting goalkeeper Felipe Petry (Barao, Brazil/Instituto Estadul de Educacao) made two saves before being relieved in the 72nd minute by Leonardo Amorim (Sanata Catarina, Brazil/Colegio Catarinese Florianopolis). They combined for the Chargers’ third clean sheet of the season.
