Monmouth College’s Hot Hitting Cools Red Devils

MONMOUTH, IL (09/03/2019) Volleyball – Monmouth hit. 277 and pounded 39 kills in a 3-0 win over Eureka Tuesday night at Glennie Gym.

The Scots rolled off the first six points of the match and stretched the lead to 20-9 on one of a game-high eight kills on the night by Lauren Sperry. Hannah Jones ended the set with a kill on the way to nailing seven winners in the three sets.

The Red Devils stayed close in Set 2 before the Scots pulled away down the stretch behind Hannah Jones, Amanda Dybal and Megan Gilstrap for a 25-21 win.

Monmouth took control midway through the final set to post a 25-15 win as Monmouth improved to 3-0 on the season.

The Scots travel to North Central for a three-match tournament in suburban Chicago.
