Monmouth-Roseville Titans Football Prepare for Their Next Game Against Rockridge

The Monmouth-Roseville Titans’ second game of the season is tonight, and Coach Jeremy Adolphson and Assistant Coach Kevin Ferry are ready to take on Rockridge.

The away game follows last week’s 20-18 loss against Orion, but the Titan’s coaches are optimistic about the upcoming game.

This year’s changes for Rockridge include a new coach, but their basic strategy has not changed, according to coach Adolphson. Their comeback and eventual win in the second half of last week’s game means that the Monmouth-Roseville Titans will need to maintain steady control to win, Adolphson later explained.

Coach Adolphson talks more about what the Titans will have to do to get the win tonight…

“They’re a proud program, and in the last couple years Rockridge hasn’t had a ton of kids, they’re kind of used to this being how they’ve got to play, and we just have to take advantage of it. And like Coach Ferry said, just play fast. The only way you beat someone who’s starting to get tired is you have to go faster. Slowing down and being cautious doesn’t cut it, we want to be as fast as we can on both sides of the ball, and with their running game it’s a bit tricky at times but we just taught kids, once you’re through, we have rules for who you’re supposed to tackle, but I don’t want you thinking about it once you’re there, you make your decision to put someone on the ground, and they blow the whistle, great job.”

The game starts tonight at 7:00 pm, to listen, tune in to 97.7 WMOI.
