For anyone planning on attending the Western Illinois University’s home football opener tomorrow, you need to be aware of a new policy beginning this school year. According to the WIU director of athletics, there is a new clear bag policy at Hansen Field, the home of the Fighting Leathernecks football team. Spectators can only bring items into the game in a clear plastic bag to be checked by security. All different sizes will be accepted and clear bags will be for sale at the ticket gate. The AD says this is a proactive approach that’s practiced at many stadiums. Officials said diaper bags and medical equipment will be an exception, but will be subject to inspection by security at the entrance. The Leathernecks (0-2) host Montana State (1-1) for a 3:00 kickoff at Hansen Field on the WIU campus.
