Bustos Announces More Than $1.3 Million in Grants For Local Health Centers

Today, on National Rural Health Day, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) announced that health centers in the district will receive a total of $1,341,622 in federal funding. These federal grants were awarded through the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Health Center Cluster Program that helps community-based health care organizations provide primary care for underserved communities. Congresswoman Bustos is a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee that oversees the Department of Health and Human Services. 

“On National Rural Health Day, I’m pleased to announce these federal investments to serve the needs of hardworking Illinoisans,” Congresswoman Bustos said. “Our community health centers help improve the wellbeing of our families and communities, and I’ll continue working to provide folks with quality, affordable health care.” 

Henderson County Rural Health Center received $571,815 and Whiteside County Health Department received $769,807.
