Grace Palmieri, 81 of Abingdon, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2019 at her home.

She was born July 19, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Emmett and Elizabeth Teresa (Buley) Bowman.  She married Eugene A. Palmieri on May 29, 1977 at Oak Park, Illinois.

Grace is survived by her husband of 42 years, Eugene; her children, Geno J. Palmieri of Abingdon and Maria (and Jason) Wilson of Abingdon; and 4 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

 She grew up in Spencer, Indiana and later graduated from Broadview Academy in Broadview, Illinois.  Grace worked in several factories in her younger years and has been a homemaker since her marriage.   She and Gene moved to Abingdon in 1990.  She was a member of the Park View Seventh Day Adventist Church in Galesburg.    She enjoyed crocheting, reading, working crossword puzzles and she loved spending time with her family.

Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with her arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
