An Illinois State Trooper was out of his squad handling a crash. The squad car was parked on the right shoulder of the road with all emergency lights activated. A Chevrolet Sedan, driven by 55 year old David L. Norberg of Osco, Illinois, failed to move over and struck the ISP squad car causing minor damage to both vehicles. There were no injuries and all vehicles were able to drive from the scene. Norberg has been charged with failure to move over for a stationary emergency vehicle.

As our area moves into winter driving conditions, please remember, the Move Over Law is still in place. It is crucial that all motorists follow this law. When winter driving conditions are present, slow down. As you scan ahead and see emergency lights, be prepared for lane changes and possible traffic stopping. Our lives are in your hands, please protect those protecting you.

The public is reminded that all persons are presumed innocent unless the charges are proven in a court of law.
