Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 10th, 2019:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is freshman girls swimmer, Addie Smith. Addie garnered many first place finishes during her first high school swim season. She dominated the 100 yard breaststoke race, touching the wall first numerous times. The highlight of the season so far was a 3rd place finish in the same event at the Macomb Invitational against much larger schools.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Dylan Cheline. Prior to his junior season, Dylan made the switch from running back to lineman. In two short seasons, he turned himself into a 2-way, second team member on the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Conference team . Dylan was named as an offensive and defensive lineman , as well as being name to the LTC All-Academic team.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman football player, Kaiden Droste. Kaiden exploded onto the local high school football scene in his first year. In his very first varisty game, he ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns. Kaiden ended the year with nine rushing touchdowns. That performance landed him on the Lincoln Trail All-Conference Honorable Mention list. He was also named to the conference’s All-Academic team as well.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior volleyball player, Emma Curry. Emma finished her high school career with a placement on the Prairieland Conference’s All-Conference first team. She did a little bit of everything for the Lady Tornadoes this season. Emma was a 95% server, along with hustling her way to a total of 169 digs and averaging over 3.5 kills per match.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior volleyball player, Lauren Livingston. Lauren had an outstanding season at the net for the Silver Streaks. She led her team in kills in nearly every match this season. That consistency and hard-nosed effort earned Lauren the honor of being named to the Western Big Six Conference’s all-conference second team.
