Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 17th, 2019:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Jakob Thomas. Jakob finished his final year of high school football with a dominating year on defense. He was the leading tackler for the Titans with 70 stops, with 47 of those being solo tackles, also a team-high. The disruption caused by Jakob in the opponent’s backfield was evident with his 20 tackles for loss, including 3 sacks.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore volleyball player, Jenna Bentz. Jenna was named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Confernece 1st team for her versatile performance on the court this season. She ranked in the top-four on the Red Storm in five different categories, leading her team in total assists for the year. Jenna was also named to the LTC All-Academic team.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior volleyball player, Reagan Spence. Reagan had a great year guarding and scoring at the net this season for the Heat. She was third on the team in total kills, while leading the team in total blocks. Reagan also put the time in the classroom as well. She earned the honor of being named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Academic team.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Ryan Adolphson. Ryan was one of the most versatile players in the Prairieland Conference’s Black Division this past season. Along with opening holes for his teammates at the tight end position, in which he was an All-Prairieland Conference 1st team selection, he also caught 13 passes.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior football player, David Vaynerman. David did great work on the football field as well as in the classroom this fall. His performance on the football field as a linebacker got him a 1st team defense nod on the Western Big Six Conference’s All-Conference team. His performance in the classroom earned him a spot on the Western Big Six Conference’s All-Academic team.
