Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 1st, 2019:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Quincy Talivaa. In the first varsity action of his career, Quincy put together a good enough week to place him on the Orion Tip-Off Classic All-Tournament Team. He scored 14 points in his first varsity start and followed that up with a 30 point effort against Ridgewood in an overtime victory. Quincy averaged 16.5 points for the week.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Evan Wynne. Evan’s scoring and senior leadership on the floor helped propel the Red Storm to a runner-up finish in the ROWVA/Williamsfield Invitational Tournament. He averaged over 10 points a game during his team’s five games. His high point total of 15 points came in a blowout win over Galva.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is boys basketball player, Landen Beelman. Landen got his final high school basketball season off to a great start in the ROWVA/Williamsfield Invitational Tournament. He averaged 12 points a game as the Heat won 3 of 5 games in the tournament.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Ryan Adolphson. Ryan had an all-tournament performance at the Orion Tip-Off Classic. He averaged nearly a double-double with almost 15 points a game and just under 10 rebounds a contest. Ryan helped the Tornadoes bring home a 3rd place plaque with a record of (3-1).

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jaylin McCants. Jaylin put up monster numbers in the Silver Streaks undefeated run through the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament. He averaged 26.5 points and 11 rebounds for the week. Included in that points total was a 33 point outburst in his first game of the season against Sacred Heart-Griffin.
