Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Nov. 24th, 2019:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Ryley Huston. Ryley put on an All-Tournament performance at the 11th Annual Ridgewood Thanksgiving Tournament. She averaged 14.5 points in five Titan wins. She was also proficient from the free throw line, making 10 of 14 for the week. Ryley pulled down an average of five rebounds a contest as well.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls basketball player, Luci Kane. Luci averaged 5.5 points a game in five Red Storm contests at the Ridgewood Thanksgiving Tournament last week. That was good enough for second highest on her team. Included in that point total was a team-leading 11 in a win against Galva.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Carley Lafary. Carley was a beast around the rim last week in her team’s run to a ROWVA/Williamsfield Cranberry Classic championship. She averaged over 20 points a game in the Heat’s three wins. Carley scored 28 in the eventual tournament-winning victory over Abingdon-Avon.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore girls basketball player, Ashley Jones. Ashley has gotten her season off to a great start with a fantastic week at the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cranberry Classic. She averaged over 17 points a game in the Tornado’s runner-up finish in the tournament. Ashley’s high-game for the week came against ROWVA/Williamsfield, in which she poured in 26 points.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Kaylee Miller. Kaylee hit shot after shot from behind the 3-point line last week on her way to a scoring average of over 10 points as the Streaks took two of their first three games in the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament. Most of those points came from the seven, 3-pointers she made.

Congrats to all of these student-athletes!! Thanks to our AOTW sponsors, MC Sport and More, McDonough Telephone Cooperative (mdtc), Tompkins State Bank and Kehoe Eye Care!!
