Mrs. Dianne M. Johnson, 75, of Alexis died at 2:50 p.m., Friday, January 10, 2020 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Dianne was born February 18, 1944 in Burlington, Iowa to Finus and Edna M. (Cronk) Attwell. She married Claris “Gene” Johnson Jr. in Springfield on May 23, 1971.

She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Gene Johnson of Alexis, two sons William R. “Bob” Glover of Alexis and Kenneth Blaine (Debbie) Heck of Missouri, one daughter Katina Eva-Mà Johnson of New Boston, Missouri, one brother William (Wanda) Attwell of New Orleans, Louisiana, and two sisters Virginia (Bob) Attwell of Wataga and Patricia Attwell of Abingdon. Also surviving are her grandchildren Samantha (Zach) Laby, Josey Morrow, Claris Raine “Rainey” Johnson, and Evelyn Bailey Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Dianne attended Warren High School. She and Gene raised their three children and many horses and dogs on their 10 acres throughout the years. Dianne was an excellent tailor and seamstress. She worked at Joe’s Tailor for 11 years and Linda’s Lines Limited for several years before running her own business from home. Dianne was a well-loved woman that had a way of bringing comfort to those around her. She loved to square-dance and took to calling at dances often. Dianne passed on her adoration for animals, horseback riding, and dancing to her children.

At Dianne’s request, cremation will be accorded and there are no services planned. Memorial contributions may be donated to the Alexis North Henderson Ambulance Service in Dianne’s honor. Hinchliff-Pearson-west Funeral Directors and Cremation Services is assisting the family with final arrangements. Online condolences may be given at www.h-p-w.com.
