Phyllis Joan Webber, 90, of Galesburg, died at home Thursday January 16, 2020 at 12:35 p.m.
Phyllis was born September 17, 1929 in Galesburg, the daughter of Crescent Edward and Victoria Lucille (Swanson) Worden. She married Leroy E. “Lee” Webber on October 15, 1948 in Galesburg. Lee preceded her in death in 1998. Phyllis is survived by one son, Mike (Susan) Webber of Knoxville; one daughter, Nancy (the late Robert) Berry of Galesburg; one brother, Tom (Judy) Worden of Galesburg; two granddaughters, Nicole (Forrest Norville) Berry and Casey Berry; three great grandchildren, Zanyah, Nolan, and Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Phyllis was preceded in death by one brother, C. Edward (Doris) Worden, Jr. and one sister, Eileen (Fran) Nelson.
Phyllis graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg. She was of the catholic faith. In her younger years, Phyllis worked at the Illinois Camera Shop and after her children were born she became a stay at home Mom. Phyllis enjoyed working in her yard. Phyllis enjoyed harness racing and going to the casino. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her kids and grandkids sporting events.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Rev. William T. Miller will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
