Steven H. Youngquist,70, of Galesburg, IL, formerly of Cameron, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025 as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident.

He was born on December 7, 1954 in Monmouth, IL, the son of Ronald and Willadene (Sprout) Youngquist. Steve was raised and educated in rural Monmouth, graduating from Warren High School in 1973. He later graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in accounting.

Steve married Christine Fritz on April 5, 1985 in Galesburg, IL, they were married nearly 40 years. She passed away on January 30, 2025.

Steve was a farmer his whole life. He also owned and operated the SeedHouse in Cameron for many years and continued to work with his son at Youngquist Ag. Steve was a family man and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid boater and enjoyed his time on the water. Steve liked talking sports with his sons and enjoyed a round of golf with his friends. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed fixing things for his family. If you knew Steve well, you would know that he had a huge heart and gave the best hugs.

Surviving Steve are his children, Zack (Jaclyn) Youngquist of Monmouth, IL, Hannah (Ben) Dingman of Rock Island, IL, Carissa (Preston) Powell of Overland Park, KS; his grandchildren, Charlotte Youngquist, Maxwell Dingman, Archer Powell, Vaeyah Dingman, Eloise Powell; his mother, Willadene Youngquist of Monmouth; two sisters, Ronadene (Bill) Bogener of Rio, IL, and Annie Christian of Monmouth, IL; sister-in-law Janet Collopy of Williamsfield, IL. Also surviving are numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, wife, and brothers-in-law, Gary Christian and Randy Fritz.

A Celebration of Life will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. A Gathering of Family & Friends will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Lake Bracken Country Club Clubhouse (1036 Sunny Knoll Dr., Galesburg, IL). Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Steve and Chris Youngquist Memorial Fund, and the children will disburse the contributions to causes that were near and dear to Steve’s heart.
