Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 19th, 2020:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Conner Olson. Conner broke out for a season-high of 19 points in a win over Peoria Heights. Included in that total was four, 3-pointers. After missing a significant amount of time early in the season, it looks like Conner has regained his long distance shooting touch.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Natalie King. Natalie scored a season-high 11 points in a Lincoln Trail Conference Tournament loss to top-seeded Princeville. With her high school career beginning to wind down, Natalie is ready to use her vast experience to to lead her team into the postseason on a high note.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys bowler, Tucker Peterson. Tucker had a fantastic Oregon regional championship meet Plum Hollow Family Center in Dixon. He tied for 12th place overall individually with a 6-game total of 1154. That score was plenty enough for Tucker to move on to the Sycamore Sectional at Mardi Gras Lanes in Dekalb.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Delaynie Goehl. Delaynie broke out for 14 points in a Prairieland Conference cross-division win vs. Rushville-Industry. Among that 14 points was a trio of 3-pointers. She also contributed to the win on the defensive end as well, garnering four rebounds and two steals.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jaylin McCants. Jaylin achieved a couple of milestones in his 3-year varsity career last week. First, he went over the 1,000 career point mark in a non-conference victory over Morton. During the Martin Luther King Jr. Tournament he moved up to 13th on the all-time scoring list with 23 points in a win over Gary Comer College Prep.
