Warren County Board Adopts Citizen’s Advisory Committee’s Recommendation to build a new jail

Share

The Citizens Advisory Committee for the Warren County Jail made their presentation to the Warren County Board in December to recommend a new jail be built adjacent to or connected to the Monmouth Police Department. Chairman of the Committee, Chip Algren made the presentation and the committee’s recommendation to build a new jail was adopted by the Warren County Board. The committee will analyze the sales tax revenue and determine what amount of a sales tax increase would be needed to build a new jail. This endeavor is expected to take another 12-18 months before the tax would appear on the ballot.
