Mrs. Bonita M. “Bonnie” Hodgen, 67, of Cameron, Illinois passed away at 2:46 pm Monday, February 17, 2020 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

Bonnie was born May 6, 1952 the daughter of Donald “Bud” and Esther Mitchell Sheldon. She married Terry Hodgen on February 20, 1988 in Gerlaw, Illinois.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 32 years, Terry; her daughter, Morgan (Waylon) Stancomb of Wataga, Illinois; her brother, Bill (Becky) Sheldon of Galesburg; sister-in-law, Laurie (Kurt) Allen of Aledo, Illinois; niece, Rhetta (fiancé Josh Lofing) Sheldon of Tinley Park, Illinois and a nephew, Andy (Rachel) Sheldon of Galesburg. She is preceded in death by her brother, Bobbie Sheldon and her niece, Angie Sheldon in 2000.

Bonnie was employed at Giant Food until its closing. She then worked for Gale Products and later at Orkin Pest Control. Bonnie finally retired from the credit department of Dick Blick in recent years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1970. Bonnie enjoyed boating on the river with her family. She loved animals and shopping for the holidays. Bonnie especially loved spending time with her daughter while baking cookies.

Funeral services are scheduled for Noon Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. Rev. Mary Runge will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00-Noon Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial in Bonnie’s name.
