GALESBURG — Former players of Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball coach, women’s golf coach and athletic director Mike Bailey are invited to congratulate him on the end of his career during the Chargers women’s basketball team’s final regular-season home game at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 13.

Bailey will be recognized following that evening’s Sophomore Night festivities, which will take place between the Chargers women’s and men’s basketball games against Illinois Valley.

Bailey, who has been at Sandburg since 1997, announced last month that he will step down from his coaching and administrative duties at the end of the current basketball season and will move into an academic advising role March 1.

He has spent time as the Chargers’ head coach in men’s basketball (1997-2007), baseball (1998-2004), women’s golf (2011-20) and women’s basketball (2007-present) in addition to serving as Sandburg’s athletic director since 2013.
