Edward D. “Ed” Mason, age 63, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 7:25
AM on Wednesday, February 25, 2020 at his residence in Monmouth. He was born August 17, 1956 in Avon, Illinois, the son of Clarence L. and Nedra
(Gittings) Mason. Ed attended Roseville High School. Ed proudly served
his Country serving in the United States Army. On June 10, 1977, he married Brenda D. Eiler in the Nazarene Church in Monmouth, Illinois and she is surviving. Ed worked his entire career as a self-employed carpenter. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, mushrooming, and collecting autographs. Mostly, Ed loved being with his grandchildren.

Ed is survived by his wife Brenda, two sons, Jeffery (Heather) Mason of
Monmouth, Illinois and Joshua (Courtney) Mason of Galesburg, Illinois,
one brother, Don (Kathy) Mason of Pheln, California, grandchildren;
Jeffery Mason II, Courtney Mason, James Mason, Jordin Mason, Adnrianna
Mason, and Jacob Mason, five sisters-in-law; Rhonda McClintock, Robin
Eiler, Marceila (Junior) Simpson, and Michelle (Stephanie) Eiler. Also
surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Ed was met
at the Gates by his parents, his in-laws Lynn and Shirley Eiler, special
son, Allen Nickols, granddaughter Caitlynn Mason, and his brother-in-law
Ronald McClintock.

A funeral service for Edward Mason will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday,
March 3, 2020 at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth. Visitation will be
from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will be at Monmouth Cemetery. A memorial
is being established and will be determined at a later date.
