Show your support by wearing red Friday, February 7

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States. Every year, 1 in 4 deaths is caused by heart disease. However, heart disease can often be prevented.

February is American Heart Month. OSF HealthCare and the OSF HealthCare Cardiovascular Institute are marking the occasion by encouraging you to take control of your heart health. Heart disease can often be prevented by making healthy choices and managing health conditions. You can fight heart disease risk factors like high blood pressure and inactivity and lessen your risk.

Take action and take better care of your heart today! Learn more about heart disease risk factors by clicking here.

To help spread awareness, Friday, February 7 is National Wear Red Day. People are encouraged to wear red, decorate their homes and offices in red, and to encourage others to make a change to improve their heart health.

OSF HealthCare is working to bring attention to heart health awareness during the entire month of February. To find an event near you, visit osfhealthcare.org and click on Classes & Events.
