Robert G. Venard Jr., age 62, of Oquawka, Illinois; passed away at 7:35
am on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Roseville Rehab and Health Care
Center. Robert was born on January 31, 1958 in Monmouth, Illinois and is
the son of Robert G. Sr. and Peggy Ann Colley Venard. He attended
Monmouth schools and graduated from Monmouth High School in the class of 1976. He then attended and graduated from Monmouth College with a degree in Sociology with the class of 1980. Robert began work in Decatur,
Illinois, but his main employment was as a systems administrator for
Bristol Meyers Squibb in Princeton, New Jersey from where he retired in
2010. Robert had a passion for fine wine and good Vodka and enjoyed
going to “Market Alley Wines” in Monmouth. He enjoyed shooting and
collecting guns and loved his pet cats. Robert enjoyed the television
show, ” Midnight Mausoleum ” and Marlena Midnight. He often read the
dictionary and was known to be a master of it! Robert had a great sense
of humor and a heart of gold. Surviving Robert are two sisters and a
brother-in-law. A number of nieces and nephews are also surviving along
with his favorite cats. He is preceded in his death by his parents.

A gathering of his family and friends is planned for Thursday, February
27, 2020 at Market Alley Wines of Monmouth beginning at Noon. Cremation
has been accorded. A memorial fund is being established for Western
Illinois Animal Rescue. To leave a remembrance or for more information
