No early frost this winter allowed the crops to mature after a late planting season in 2019, producing better than expected yields. Going forward, West Central FS Agronomist Joe Franks states the risk lies now with corn sitting in grain bins:
“I know I have heard from a few growers, not that I know a lot about storing corn, but there has been some bins of corn out there that are maybe questionable from a quality standpoint. I think most of our growers have kept a pretty good eye on that and you have seen a lot of grain moving down the road here just in the last couple of weeks,” shares Franks.
Franks is hopeful for a little more normal growing season in 2020 and does not foresee changing things up from what was already planned for.
