Alice Joan Williams, 84, of Kirkwood, IL, died at 8:48 p.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth, IL.

She was born January 20, 1936, in Lewis County MO, the daughter of Curtis Aldwin and Alice Dera (Risk) Hinton. She graduated from Kirkwood High School in the Class of 1954.

She married Paul Emerson Williams on June 12, 1955 in Kirkwood, IL and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2016.

She was employed at Glastex and later retired from Maytag. As a Keithsburg Campground host, she loved to spend time on the river camping with Paul and their family. She loved to garden, sew, and knit. She was the leader of her local Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was a member of the Kirkwood Westminster Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by four sons and one daughter, Roger (Leta) Williams of Peoria, IL, Glen “Andy” Williams of Kirkwood, IL, Rick Williams of Monmouth, IL, Daniel (Julie) Williams of Galesburg, IL, Mitzi (Jeff) Sharer of Little York, IL; nine grandchildren, Megan, Brooke, and Brandon Sharer, Nate, Zach, and Rachel Williams, Jacob, Makenzie, and Kalie Williams; two great-grandchildren, Aubrie and Lexie Clegg; and grand dogs, Buster and Sissy. She is also survived by four sisters and two brothers, Avis Sue Hinton of New Castle, WY, Geneva Jane Marcase of Houston, PA, Fay Fowler of New London, IA, Rebecca Dera (John) Paternoster of Battle Creek, MI, Luchien (Donna) Hinton of Kirkwood, IL, and George (Sally) Hinton of Kirkwood, IL; several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Redmond “Sonny” Hinton and Leroy Hinton, brother-in-law Karl Fowler, and daughter-in-law Tracey Williams.

Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2020 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials may be made to the Kirkwood Senior Citizens Center.
