Betty L. Day, 95, of Kirkwood, IL, passed away at 3:40 pm, Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the Mercer Manor Rehabilitation Center, Aledo, IL. 

She was born March 2, 1925 in Elmwood, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Verna (Thurman) Kemper.  Betty was raised and educated in Fairview, IL and graduated from Fairview High School in 1943. 

Betty married Thomas J. Day in Abingdon, IL; he preceded her in death in 1958. 

Betty worked at Maytag in Galesburg for 32 years.  She enjoyed her adult coloring books, reading, and cross stitching.   

Surviving Betty are her children, Thomas M. (Sally) Day of Galesburg, IL, Debra (Stephen) Wells of Kirkwood, IL; her grandchildren, Melanie (Tim) Hasbrook of Princeton, IL, Michael Day of Galesburg, IL, Nathan Huss of Ft. Madison, IA, Aron Huss of Ashville, NC, Sarah (Kris) Brant of Ft. Mill, SC; 8 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. 

Cremation rites have been accorded.  No visitation or services are planned at this time.  Burial of ashes will be in Foster Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials can be made to the Knox County Humane Society or the Guardian Angels Humane Society in Galesburg.McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
