Donna Jean Cooley, 78, of Bettendorf, Iowa, formerly of Galesburg, died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020, in Bettendorf Health Care Center.

She was born June 4, 1941, in Victoria, the daughter of H. Dale and Mayme (Poole) Miles.  She married Donald Cooley in 1961 at Coldbrook Christian Church. 

She is survived by two sons, David Cooley of Madison, Alabama and Dale Cooley of Buckeye, Arizona; five grandchildren; a brother, Jim Miles of Galesburg; and a sister, Patricia Miles of Galesburg.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Richard Miles and William Miles; and her son Darrell Cooley.

Donna was a seamstress at Bergners, a sales clerk at Sears, and then store manager for Endicott Johnson, all in the Sandburg Mall.  She was also a self-employed seamstress for many years.  She retired in 2002.  Donna enjoyed decorating, cooking, bird watching especially cardinals and chickadees, and sewing.  She loved her family and spending time with them.

Cremation will be accorded.  A memorial service and burial will be planned for a later date.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is handling arrangements for the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
