Connie Sue Spiker, 65, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 4:15a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at her home. 

She was born on October 16, 1954 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Richard and Evelyn (Bauer) Whitmore.  She was raised and educated in Henderson County, IL. 

Connie married John L. Spiker on March 28, 1981 at the Oquawka United Methodist Church; he survives.   

Connie worked a few different jobs when she was younger but dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, and watching tv shows.  Most of all, she loved to spend time with her husband, her pets, and enjoyed seeing her children and grandchildren.   

Surviving Connie is her husband, John L. Spiker of Oquawka, IL; her children, Alex (Linda) Spiker of Oquawka, IL, Jessica (Donavan) Vanskike of Monmouth, IL, Richard (Wendy) Spiker of Burlington, IA; her grandchildren, Zachary Spiker, Lillian Spiker, Jaxson Spiker, Alexandria Spiker, Scarlett Vanskike, Zoey Spiker; one great grandson, Ashton Spiker; one sister, Patricia (Gary) Andrews; two brothers, Gerald (Gayle) Whitmore, and Michael Whitmore.  Also surviving is one niece, Tracy (Carl) Chandler; one nephew, Cory (Katy) Whitmore, along with many cousins.   

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and younger sister, Brenda Whitmore. Cremation rites have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
