Darlene M. Barman, 85, of Little York, IL passed away at 2:05 am, March 31, 2020 at her home with her daughters by her side. 

She was born January 22, 1935 in Dahinda, IL, the daughter of Roy and Eva (Gardner) Myers.  She was raised and educated in the Knoxville, area, graduating from Knoxville High School in 1953. 

Darlene married Dale Barman in Knoxville, IL on June 11, 1955 and he passed away on June 26, 2006. 

She worked as a cashier at the Aledo Jack & Jill.  She later worked as a secretary for Husky Built and then for the Little York branch of F/S from which she retired. 

She was a member of the former Little Cedar Presbyterian Church.  She loved to read, meet up with high school friends and working in her yard.  She also enjoyed going to card club, shopping at yard sales and being with her family.  She especially loved watching and caring for her grandchildren and attending their many activities. She lived being entertained by her great grandchildren. 

Survivors include her daughters, Tina Barman and Linda Shimmin  and Susan (Doug) Moulden all of  Little York, IL; 4 grandchildren, Amber (Matt) Hawk of Galesburg, IL, Spencer Shimmin of Little York, IL , Anthony (Nichole) Moulden of East Galesburg, IL and Brandon (Jessica) Moulden of Monmouth, IL; 6 great grandchildren, Shelby and Ava Powers, Aleeah and Alexa Moulden, Carter and Cayden Moulden; numerous nieces and nephews including 2 special nieces, Becky Gardner and Cindy Anderson. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, Robert, Myers, Betty Oglelsby, Bonnie Carlson, Mary Shenaut and Ruby Myers; 2 nephews, Roger Carlson and Kendall Myers; son in law, Thomas Shimmin. 

Cremation has been accorded.  A private interment will take place at Little York Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be given to the Warren County Public Library or Western Illinois Animal Rescue. Darlene’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to OSF Home Health Care and OSF Hospice specifically Sara and Denise for the excellent care and compassion that they showed Darlene during this time.
