Mr. Marcus Eugene Knuth, 87, of Galesburg, Illinois died 3:54 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2020 at his home. 

He was born January 15, 1933 in Monmouth, Illinois to Marcus Sebastian and Anita Ruth (Lough) Knuth.  He married Charlotte Cramberg May 5, 1953 in Monmouth.  She survives. 

Also surviving are two sons, Jeff (Tina) (April Harris) Knuth of East Galesburg and Marcus Knuth of Mexico, three daughters, Pam Sue (and Jim) Kendrick of Florida, Crystal Ruth Knuth of Rotonda, Florida, and Jennifer Lynn (and George) Cox of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, a brother, Donald Knuth of LaSalle, Illinois, a sister, Sherry (and Bob) Weedman of Wyoming, Illinois, twelve grandchildren, Sheryl, Brad, Nate, Ashley, Tony, Joey, Rocky, Brett, Erica, Katie, Kristen, and Andrew, 19 great grandchildren, Brianna, Anna, Analee, Calista, Brad Jr., Skyler, Dalton, Casen, Caden, Aubrey, Cruz, Ashton, Leo, Aurora, Austin, Kali, Miley, Aiden, and Andrue, and a great-great granddaughter, Mia.  He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James, Daniel, and Ronald. 

Marcus graduated from Dallas City High School, Dallas City, Illinois.  He served in the United States Navy for four years and was stationed on a destroyer.  He worked for Burlington Northern/ Santa Fe Rail Road.  He later worked for Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg for 30 years.  He was a member of Harvest Church of God in East Galesburg.  Marcus enjoyed fishing, gardening, wrestling, and collecting rocks. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A graveside service will be held at a later date in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
