Jeffrey Lynn Pruett

Jeffrey Lynn Pruett, formerly of Woodhull, has passed away in Dixon, Illinois, on April 30, 2020.  Jeffrey was born on November 7, 1957 to Elmer L. and Ruth A. (Miller) Pruett.

Jeffrey resided at New Main, affiliated with Kreider Services, in Dixon, Illinois. He had lived in Dixon for around 30 years.  While living there he had won the hearts of all he met and all he touched in only the way Jeffrey could. He had a look, a smile, and a laugh that made others feel his sweet soul.  He loved people and cared deeply for all the people in his life.

As a youngster in Woodhull, Illinois, he would venture out to see others, he knew no strangers. And everyone in our small community knew Jeff. He didn’t see himself as handicapped. He loved trucks, as his Dad also did, to the point that while visiting a local school bus garage, he found one with a key left in it and figured out a way to start it and took it for a short spin. A very short spin right over his new bicycle. This is just one of many stories we could share.

He was a kind, loving person and will be missed by all whose hearts he touched. Jeff is survived by his 8 siblings: Judy (Robert) Harman of Woodhull, James (Stephen) Pruett of Florida, Jerry (Joan) Pruett of Woodhull, Janice Litton of Woodhull, J. (Walt) Pruett of Colorado, June (Dave) Luciani of Colona, Jacqueline Pruett of Peoria, Tammy (Randy) Bertrand of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Raymond Litton.

Jeffrey left a special mark in the hearts of everyone that he encountered and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Krieder Service employees.  Private gravesides will be held on Friday, May 8, 2020 at the Woodhull Cemetery, Woodhull, Illinois. The family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.  Memorial contributions may be made to Kreider Services, 500 Anchor Road, Dixon, Illinois 61021. On-line condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
