Margaret C. “Peg” Boyer, 88, of Galesburg, died at 2:53 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2020 at home.

Peg was born December 16, 1931 in Galesburg, the daughter of Cluade and Violet (Barber) Bellamy.  She married Richard Glenn Boyer on October 10, 1970 in Galesburg.  He preceded her in death on November 11, 2010.  Peg is survived by two sons, Lyndon Sauter of Matherville and Scott Sauter of Monmouth; two daughters, Cynthia (Thomas) Brock and Alice (James) Mason both of Galesburg; one step son, Rick Boyer of Galesburg; and one step daughter, Leanne (Terry) Showalter of Johnstown, CO.  She is also survived by two sisters, Alice (Fred) Madvig of Galesburg and Sharon (Don) Jacobson of Altona; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.  Along with her parents and husband, Peg was preceded in death by one son, John Sauter; one infant brother, Charles; a granddaughter, Kaylee Furnodus; one sister, Barbara Bellamy; and a brother and sister in law, Dale and Beverly Bellamy.

Peg worked in the credit department at OT Johnson’s for 35 years.  She then worked at Bank of Galesburg and eventually retired from First Midwest Bank in 1993.  Peg never had idle hands, after retirement, Peg worked weekends in the office at St. Mary’s Square Living Center for many years.  She also enjoyed reading, walking, and playing cards.  She enjoyed attending family dinners at Cynthia’s home.  Her greatest joy was being with and spending time with her grandchildren.  They always put a smile on her face.

Cremation rites will be accorded.  Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Wounded Warrior Project, or to Beacon Of Hope Hospice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg.
