Pearl Eileen Hanson, age 89, of Knoxville, Illinois died at 7:10 P.M. on Friday, May 22, 2020 at her home in Knoxville, Illinois.         

She was born on January 21, 1931 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Earl and Pearl Jane (Harshbarger) Sheetz. She attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1949. She married Dale H. Hanson on November 23, 1950 in at the family home in Knoxville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2017.

Eileen is survived by her children: Mark Hanson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ruth (and Steven) Arthur of Eminence, Indiana, and Paul Hanson of Indianapolis, Indiana; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Meloen of Oakland, Oklahoma, and a sister-in-law, Diana Sheetz of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Francis Sheetz.

With her husband they owned and operated the former Hanson Feed House in Knoxville, Illinois. Later, she drove a school bus for 20 years for the Knoxville School District. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, and reading cookbooks. She was a very social person, enjoyed her family and her friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a virtual Memorial Service will held on. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall at 201 North Linwood Road, Galesburg, Illinois, 61401.  Online condolences and expressions of sympathy may be made through www.hurd-hendricksfuneralhome.com.
