70% Self-Response for 2020 Census has been Counted in Warren County and City of Monmouth

Share

Nearly 70 percent of housing units in Warren County and the City of Monmouth have completed the self-response for the 2020 census. Ricky Newcomb, Western Illinois Regional Council Census Facilitator, states why it is so important to be counted:

“The census is important to bring money into your communities. There is a lot of state and federal funding that depends on this and the numbers from the census determine the data for the next decade. To get road money, money for schools, to get healthcare and social service, and money for agricultural grants. It just brings money into a community. That is why we need everyone to answer the census,” Newcomb says.

In mid-August, enumerators will begin knocking on the doors of households that have not responded to the 2020 census. The enumerators will have ID’s with an expiration date from the Department of Commerce.

Completing the 2020 census can be done in one of three ways, calling 844-330-2020, online at http://my2020census.gov, or mailing back the questionnaire.
